In Akwa Ibom, a former Director of the NYSC, Major Gen. Edet Akpan and 10 corp members were arrested by members of the Directorate of State Service.

Akpan and the corp members were nabbed in Nsit Atai Ward for allegedly thumb printing ballot papers in Nsit Atai Local Government Area.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom, Mr. Austin Okojie, confirmed this at an emergency press briefing that was held this evening in Uyo.
